It is a variable intensity illuminator and it takes a standard eke 21 volt 150 watt halogen lamp. Convenient and easy to use, the Darklite can remain attached to the microscope, as shown above, without obstructing its normal operation.

The Darklite vertical illuminates a 50mm section of a 25mm x 75mm 1 inch x 3 inch slide through the sides.
