The 6-inch Microscope Scientific H105 Travel Prior is a compact, portable microscope that caters to both educational and personal use. Here are its pros and cons:
Pros:1. Portability: The microscope is compact and lightweight, making it easy to carry around for fieldwork, classroom demonstrations, or personal use.
2. Wide Magnification Range: It offers a magnification range of 40x to 1000x, allowing you to observe a variety of specimens in detail.
3. LED Illumination: The built-in LED illumination provides bright and clear images, which is beneficial for observing samples under different lighting conditions.
4. Sturdy Construction: Despite its compact size, the microscope is built to last with a solid aluminum alloy body.
5. Adjustable Eyepiece and Nosepiece: The adjustable eyepiece and nosepiece ensure comfortable viewing for users with different eye heights.
Cons:1. Limited Working Distance: Because of its compact size, the microscope has a shorter working distance, which might make it difficult to observe larger specimens.
2. No Camera Adapter: The microscope does not come with a camera adapter, so you cannot capture images or videos of your observations.
3. Potential Quality Issues: Some users have reported receiving microscopes with minor quality issues, such as misaligned parts or poor focus.
In conclusion, the 6-inch Microscope Scientific H105 Travel Prior is a convenient, portable microscope suitable for users who need a compact device for observing small specimens. However, if you require a microscope with a longer working distance or the ability to capture images, you may want to consider a different model. If you're satisfied with the features offered by the H105, I recommend purchasing it from a reliable retailer and inspecting it carefully upon arrival to ensure its quality.
As visible in the photos, there are scratches on the underside that will not effect performance. That project is long over and the stage has been sitting around in the factory box since. This stage has a large 6 by 6 travel and a 2mm screw pitch.
This does not effect the standard mounting holes. This stage was used in a prototype during development of an automated robotic microscopy system. It has a section of the base milled out to accommodate a back light unit that was mounted under the stage.
